A panel discussion looking at female archetypes on screen with Kristy Matheson (ACMI), Lee-Ann Woon (Madman Entertainment) and film critics Cerise Howard and Alexandra Heller-Nicholas.

Join us for a panel discussion on female archetypes on screen that have survived the test of time. Hosted by Kristy Matheson Director of Film programming at ACMI with special guests Lee-Ann Woon from Madman Entertainment and film critics Cerise Howard and Alexandra Heller-Nicholas.

The panel asks: Why do we repeat the motif of the evil step-mother, old woman as witch and the ‘other’ as a figure that inspires horror?

Do we relate to these motifs? How are female archetypes on screen changing, how have we re-written the rules?

Registrations required. Email contact will be made prior to event start with event details.
